财神是北京民间商贾和百姓普遍供奉的神灵之一，每逢新年，家家户户都要悬挂财神像，希望财神保佑以求大吉大利。农历正月初二，人们早上要祭拜财神像，之后送到广安门外“五显财神庙”烧香祭拜。五显财神庙里最重要的活动是“借元宝”，香客们都争先恐后地要将元宝“借”到手，以取吉利。

The Fortune God was one of the most popular gods which were offered by merchants and ordinary people in Beijing. When the Spring Festival came, every family would paste the portrait of Fortune God for blessing them to be luck and prosperous. On lunar January 2nd, people would offer a sacrifice to the portrait of Fortune God in the morning, later they transferred the portrait to"WuXian Caishen Temple"for burning incense and worship . Besides, the critical activity was"Borrowing Gold" in WuXian Caishen Temple.The pilgrims would strive to obtain the gold ingots for blessing themselves to be lucky in new year.
