清末，随着西风东渐的浪潮，新式婚礼开始逐渐兴起，简化繁缛的“六礼”，打破封建迷信，崇尚自由。婚礼的形式也越来越西化。新郎新娘的礼服，由中国的传统服饰变为西服婚纱。仪式上开始出现伴郎、伴娘、花童等人，并且一些婚礼开始改在教堂举行了。

People broke the feudal superstition, advocated freedom. The wedding form became more and more westernized. The wedding dress of the bride and bridegroom were turned into western wedding gown from Chinese traditional dress. On wedding ceremony, groomsmen, bridesmaids and flower boys and girls were appeared. As well, more and more wedding ceremonies were held in church.
