民国后，受西方思想影响，女子服饰也发生了变化，旗袍彻底摆脱了传统服装框架应运而生，成为旧京妇女的当家服饰。另外一种上身短衣，下身穿裙的服装也广受欢迎。洋鞋开始流行，特别是高跟鞋，为时髦女子所青睐。

During early time of the Republic of China, influenced by western concept, women’s clothing style also changed, cheongsam emerged, broke through traditional clothing styles and gradually grew to be major dress fashion among women in old Beijing. In addition, another style of dressing, namely short clothing in upper body and skirt in lower body also became fairly popular. Meanwhile, Western style shoes especially high heel shoes got more popular among fashionable women.
