盂兰法会上的法船 Boats of Yulan Buddhist Rites

北京很多大的寺观都要举办盂兰法会超度亡灵,其中“烧法船”是一个重要的习俗。法船由旧时的冥衣铺用木条或秸秆及彩纸糊制而成。船头为猛虎图案,上站探身持叉的探路鬼,其身后是“黑白无常”鬼。另外还要糊掌舵的一人,持桨划船的若干人。僧众、居士诵经之后,再将法船焚化。


Many large temples of Buddhist or Taoist in Beijing were held Yulan Buddhist Rites."Burning the Buddhist Boat"was a major folk custom. The boat was made of timbers, straws and papers by grave clothes store in old times. The head of the boat was painted with tiger. A path-finding ghost stood on it and followed by "Black-white" ghosts. Besides, a helmsman and boaters with paddles were pasted. Buddhists and layman Buddhists burned out the boat after chanting sutras.
