花市庙会
Flower Fair

花市,严格意义上来说已经不算是庙会,而是集了。逛花市集的都是普通老百姓,尤其是农民。花市农历每月逢四有集,花市集源于西花市大街中部的火德真君庙庙会,后来火神庙香火断绝,庙会遂演变为纯商业性的集市。


Flower fair, in a strict sense, might not belong to temple fair, but folk market. The tourists strolled on flower fair were almost ordinary people, especially farmers. Flower fair was usually opened market on the dates with number four in lunar month. It came from the temple fair of Huodezhenjun. The Temple was located in central Xihuashi Street. Later on, Huoshen Temple had no pilgrims, but the temple fair turned into a complete commercial market.

白塔寺庙会
White Pagoda Temple Fair

白塔寺农历每月逢五、逢六开庙市,所卖的花草、木碗最为有名。庙内头院东侧以卖山货、日杂用品的地摊为主,西侧以食品摊为主.庙的二院和塔院地方宽敞,则是搭台唱戏的最佳场所。庙的后门元宝胡同是鸟市,卖鸽子、鹌鹑、鹰、鸟、兔、狗等家禽家畜。春天卖小金鱼,秋天则卖蛐蛐、蝈蝈、“油葫芦”等秋虫。


The temple fair in White Pagoda Temple opened market on the day with number five and six in lunar month, and was well known as selling flowers and wooden bowls. In the East side of temple yard, the goods for sale were mainly mountain products and daily necessities. In the west of temple yard, the goods for sale were mainly food stalls. The second temple yard and tower yard were fairly spacious, which were the best place for setting up an opera stage. The backdoor of the temple was Yuanbao Lane, which was known as the birds market including pigeons, quails, hawks, birds, rabbits, dogs and so on. In spring, the market sold golden fish, and in autumn the market sold crickets, katydids and Gryllus Testaceus Walkers.

妙应寺白塔 White Pagoda of Miaoying
白塔寺,坐落在阜成门内大街,因寺中有白塔而得名。该寺始建于元代,原名大圣寿万安寺。明代奉敕重建,赐额妙应寺。
