轿子主要为官员、要人乘坐。一般最少也要二人抬,或者四人抬,路途远的,轿夫们还要换班,所以经济成本比较大。长途旅行,也有用马或骡子来驮着轿子的,这种轿子比人抬的轿子略大,能坐两三个人。
Palanquin was the major transportation for officers and nobilities in ancient. Usually it was carried by two or four people. For long distance journeys, the sedan carriers needed to change shifts, which led to high costs. Therefore, for long journey, the palanquins were also be carried by horses or mules. Such palanquins were bigger than the ones carried by labor, with a capacity of three seats.
